TRY SOMETHING NEW?

These 5 key elements shown below are the foundations of everything that I do. When the elements are combined they have the power to transform you not just physically but mentally as well.

ELEMENT 1 – EDUCATE

Education empowers a person and with empowerment comes self-belief and motivation. If you understand why you are performing an exercise and the effect it has on the body, then you are creating a positive relationship with every move you make. I ensure that with each class/1-2-1 you will build a greater understanding of how your body & mind functions. 

ELEMENT 2 –  AWARENESS

As a child we were on a journey of self-discovery, to explore how to move our bodies. However, as we grow older, our attention shifts away to other external factors. Over time faulty movement patterning and one-dimensional training plans cause imbalance within our body, reducing our efficiency of movement or even worse, causing injury. Awareness brings you back in tune with your body as you rediscover how to move again.

ELEMENT 3 – REGAIN

Our bodies are like machines, if the working parts aren’t used, they seize up. Joints are our working parts, which are designed to work through full range of movement (ROM). If they don’t work into full range often enough, muscle and connective tissue lose length. This means another joint has to pick up the workload. Do you move all joints into full ROM often enough? Regaining ROM is essential and often entails moving into places your body hasn’t been for a long time.

ELEMENT 4 –  FREEDOM

This element is about flowing with movements that without doubt enhance how your body functions. It has the ability to rediscover that spring in your step and improve your overall sense of well-being. You will build a sense of freedom as you witness yourself move with efficiency and confidence. When you come to a class/1-2-1, you leave your ego at the door! I want an environment that you have freedom to explore without the fear of being judged.

ELEMENT 5 – MINDFULNESS

If you think mindfulness isn’t beneficial, then think again, or maybe not in this case…. I have taught 1000’s of soldiers to use breathing techniques effectively to reduce mental flux. We spend a lot of time in our own heads and its been scientifically proven that people that think in the future predominantly have higher chance of anxiety. People who think in the past have higher chances of depression. Mindfulness is all about being in the present moment… Depending on the class/1-2-1 it can be performed in subtle ways or could be a 10 minute guided meditation.
